Care

Our jewellery incorporates ancient and delicate elements, each requiring thoughtful handling. We recommend avoiding routine cleaning at home and treating each piece with particular care depending on its materials.

ANCIENT COINS

Our coins are genuine antiquities that have been carefully preserved and professionally treated. Their patina, toning, and signs of age are integral to their character and value.

We strongly advise against cleaning or excessive handling, as any intervention may alter their surface and diminish their integrity.

INTAGLIOS

Intaglios, often carved in semi-precious stones, are particularly sensitive due to their engraved surfaces.

They should be protected from extreme temperatures and sudden changes in heat or cold, which may affect the stone over time. Avoid exposure to harsh conditions that could compromise their structure or finish.

EGYPTIAN SCARABS

Faience is an ancient ceramic material and should be handled with special care.

We recommend avoiding contact with water, as well as exposure to chemicals such as chlorine, salt, perfumes, and cleaning agents, all of which may damage the surface.

GENERAL CARE

Whenever possible, avoid exposing your jewellery to water, heat, or chemical substances. If your piece requires attention or cleaning, we encourage you to get in touch. We will be pleased to advise or arrange professional care to ensure it is properly preserved.

Each piece of Dubini jewellery is presented in a signature box and protective pouch. We recommend storing your jewellery in its original packaging when not in use, particularly when travelling, to help preserve its finish and prevent pieces from rubbing or becoming scratched.

If placing more than one piece in the same pouch, we suggest separating them with a soft layer, such as tissue paper, to ensure they remain protected.

Our coin jewellery should be kept away from moisture, as humidity may accelerate oxidation. We recommend avoiding wet environments and removing your jewellery before swimming, whether in the sea, a pool, or when using spa facilities. Prolonged exposure to salt water or chlorinated water may further affect the surface of the piece.

We also recommend removing your jewellery when washing your hands or applying hand sanitiser or lotion, and ensuring your skin is completely dry before putting it back on.

Care should also be taken with fragrances and cosmetics. Perfume, creams, and other products containing alcohol or chemicals should be applied before putting on your jewellery, as these substances may react with and alter the finish.

If you feel that the coin has been damaged in some way then we recommend you get in touch with us and we will assess the coin appearance. This will prevent further deterioration of the coin and more expensive repairs later. We do provide a professional service of coin restoration.
