Authentic Roman bronze coin of Nero minted circa A.D. 54-68 set in 18K yellow gold with bullet moonstone cabochon.
Handmade in Rome.
Available on back-order
Nero was born near Rome on 15 December 37 AD and was known as a child as Domitius. Through his mother Agrippina he was the only surviving direct male descendant of the emperor Augustus. In 49 AD, Agrippina married her uncle, the emperor Claudius, and began to promote her own son’s claim to the succession, at the expense of Claudius’s own son, Britannicus. She persuaded Claudius to adopt Domitius – who now took the name Nero – as his son and when it seemed as if Britannicus would be favoured, she had Claudius poisoned and Nero became emperor.

From dark to green to a golden glow, it is the patina of aged treasure coins that gives them their unique beauty. You should never scrub, buff or use anything abrasive on your bronze and copper coins in an attempt to “polish them up.” You may clean your coin bezel (the metal frame around your coin) only with a soft, non-abrasive polishing cloth. To remove skin oils and smudges, use warm water mixed with non-citrus, plain dish soap and a soft-bristle tooth brush. Rinse it in clean water and use a soft, cotton towel to gently and completely dry.
Depicted on the Coin
Obverse: NERO CAESAR AVG GERM IMP laureate head of Nero
Reverse: Victory advancing left holding in both hands shield inscribed SPQR
