Ancient Mughal Empire yellow gold coin set in 18K yellow gold with emerald and sapphire cabochons.
Handmade in Rome.
This Gold Mohur hails from the era of Emperor Aurangzeb, the 6th Mughal ruler in India, renowned as the last powerful monarch of the Mughal Empire. His reign marked the empire’s zenith, and this specific coin was minted in Burhanpur. Its obverse side bears a Persian inscription, “Sikka Zad Dar Jahan Chu Mihr-e-munir Badshah Aurangzeb Alamgir,” alongside the Hijri date 1108. On the reverse, a Julus formula is accompanied by the Regnal year ’41’ and the mint name.
